Our courses are designed to encourage young people to work together, sharing ideas, exploring new skills, and seeing amazing results. As well as giving an insight into filmmaking, it's about having fun and being inspired, and meeting like-minded friends along the way.

Even after the week has finished, we welcome students back to view their hard work on the big screen.  At Barnes Film Academy everyone's contribution is equally valid and a gala premiere for family and friends gives students the chance to reflect critically upon their work, see the work of their peers and celebrate their achievements. BFA screenings usually take place at the exclusive Olympic Cinema in Barnes, but have also featured at Luna Cinema Outdoor screenings, as well as the O2 Screening Auditorium at Barnes Film Festival.

At Barnes Film Academy, it's not just about glitz and glamour (although you'll get a bit of that too). We want you to experience first-hand what it's like to work on a film set, from brainstorming script ideas and experimenting with cameras, to choosing set locations and finding the right props. You'll be working in a team with other aspiring young filmmakers, making your own film from concept through to execution.
